Kids just love Halloween, celebrate with a new app or two!  Throughout history, many agrarian cultures have celebrated end-of-harvest festivals. The ancient Celts celebrated Samhain on the evening of October 31. It featured the wearing of masks and ceremonies to ward off the spirits of those who had died during the preceding year, which were believed to revisit the earth on that one night. Traditional activities for Halloween today include trick-or-treating, bonfires, costume parties, visiting “haunted houses” and carving jack-o-lanterns. Check out the beginning of another tradition – apps for Halloween!

AppIcon_225x225The Little Witch at School by SlimCricket

The Little Witch at School is an artful blend of stories, games and cartoons. In this story, which is the prequel to “The Witch with No Name”, you’ll see the dear witch when she was just a schoolgirl and find out how she lost her name. This year, the pupils of Chickenwich Elementary School will be taking their first witchery and wizardry examination. They’ve become older and it’s time for them to separate from their cuddly toys, which are going to become the souls of their books of magic and start a new life. The Little Witch at School is geared toward kids aged from 4 to 10 years old, and allows you to set the difficulty level depending on your child’s age. You can discover the novel camera and gyroscope effects in this e-book, so share a magic moment with your child, on a tablet or smartphone, and be prepared for a major surprise at the end of this delightful book.

Room on the Broom Games is a wonderful story of a kindhearted witch and her dear cat who collect their friends onto their magical broom – first Dog, then Bird and Frog. It’s pretty crowded, but Witch doesn’t mind. When she needs help, the friends repay her generosity and save her from the fire breathing Dragon whose favorite food is witch and fries! As a special reward she creates a ‘magnificent broom’ with seats for them all. Aside from the beautiful graphics, the app flawlessly integrates 8 games, including a few seek-and-find games to find the witch’s hat and wand that accidentally fall to the ground. There’s even one game where you can sit on the broom and fly through the air from the witch’s perspective! Play, explore and fly through the sky with Witch, Cat and friends! A Halloween classic to be enjoyed throughout the year, 8 magical, fun-filled games, which are perfect for ages 3 to 7 year olds.
