EdAppTalk / TeachersWithApps – Thursday Chat 9:00 p.m. EST
Every Thursday the Facebook group ‘Educational App Talk’ (EAT) organizes a chat on differing educational topics and features a variety of hosts. Participants are teachers, educators, parents, developers of educational applications. Chats are organized either as a presentation of mobile applications, done by the developer/company, or as a broad discussion, where all participants share their opinions, knowledge, experience. Read about our last EdAppTalk/TeachersWithApps on 2/23/17. Roxie Munro was the guest host discussing converting existing print books to apps and Best (and worse!) Practices. READ TRANSCRIPT BELOW:
The goal of the EAT talk is to recognize & promote the outstanding applications & help developers navigating an ocean of educational apps. EAT chat contributes to interesting, thought-provoking discussions on a wide variety of topics.
Among the most common topics are:
- best mobile apps for kids
- apps for special needs students
- presentations apps
- interest based learning skills
- content practice using mobile apps (math, spelling, etc.)
I have participated in EAT chat for more than 2 years & have noticed that some companies/developers are repeatedly invited to host EAT chat & some of the apps are frequently recommended by teachers/educators/parents. I decided to combine the info about the latest EAT chats & introduce and recommended developers & applications. I hope that this info could help those who develop and design mobile apps as well as those seeking the BEST apps for their children or students.
