Helping to celebrate the start of the second season of the Poppy Cat children’s television series, Cosmic Forces, the Oscar® and Emmy winning animation team, is introducing Poppy Cat Goes to the Market a Spanish to English learning game for kids, now available on the iTunes store for the iPad and iPhone.
The Poppy Cat television series returns for its second season, with all new episodes starting on Saturday, October 25. The show is currently seen on Sprout, Nick Jr. UK, and airs in more than 140 other territories around the world (check local listings for days/times). Poppy Cat Season One is also available on Netflix. Poppy Cat is the main character in a series of books created by British illustrator and writer Lara Jones. Poppy Cat has been published in many countries, with more than two million copies sold.
The app, based on the main character in the TV series and books, guides children through an animated, multi-sensory learning experience that teaches basic Spanish and English vocabulary as children shop in a market preparing for a picnic outing. The game is designed for children ages 2 to 5, and relies on basic gameplay mechanics, with six levels of play. The Spanish version is the first iteration, with Poppy Cat currently being produced in multiple languages in anticipation of a global release.
Cosmic Forces, a mobile game developer and publisher with an award winning background in animation and IP developed the app in collaboration with the producers of Poppy Cat, UK based IP company, Coolabi Group.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer children the opportunity to play, interact and learn with Poppy Cat,” said Ziad Seirafi, CEO, Creative Director of Cosmic Forces. “The game is sure to be a favorite among Poppy Cat’s fan base and will fulfill parents’ desire for an educationally wholesome experience, teaching kids while they play.”
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Cosmic Forces on the Poppy Cat Goes to the Market Spanish language teaching app,” said Michael Dee, Director of Content at Coolabi Group. The app combines gaming with intuitive learning, delivered in the much loved characteristic style of Poppy Cat – imaginative play, creativity and adventure.
