On the opening page you have access to My Journey and Open Road which gives you access to all six levels in the SpellNow for both teachers and students access. The subscription also provides teachers with access to the reporting dashboard, and gives students two unique learning environments to choose from: ‘My Journey’ (personalized learning pathway) and ‘Open Road’ (access to one year’s worth of curriculum aligned spelling content). If you are logged in, if not the Free Trial will take you to a sampling of six different games to try out, they are:

  • Word Jumble
  • Word Spin
  • Word Check
  • Word Hide
  • Word Spell
  • Dictation

Wish List: More intuitive Parent and Teacher Dashboard, I struggled with getting set up and would for the next update to include the ability to add your own word lists.

As you move through the levels each gets progressively harder adding the element of continuous progression to the app. Overall, everything about these apps works well and scaffolds successes from level to level (or as the developer terms it year to year). This suite of apps has the staying power of bringing kids back again, and again to engage kids in gameplay while teaching essential skills!
