41C9A2hVo2L._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_Kikeo and The Whale (Bilingual Edition) is an incredible new book by Kike Calvo National Geographic Creative Photographer and dad. In addition, he specializing in environmental, cultural & marine documentaries. Kike is embarking on a new project with his 11-month-old daughter, in, is soon to launch and we will keep you updated as it unfolds.

Teachers With Apps had the good fortune of meeting Kike at the Toy Fair and we had a chat about drones, another one of his passions. Recently we got hooked into his story and his soon to be adventures with his family. Kike is planning on making a digital travel log with his daughter and sharing it Instagram/Blog.

For now, we would like everyone to check out his incredible book, a bedtime story about a baby whale and her mom. They cross paths with a fictional young explorer and the message couldn’t be more poignant. Save our Seas! Kikeo’s journey will teach our children valuable lessons in tolerance, conservation, and respect for the environment. It was this quote that won me over, “we should never lose that little kid who will always be in our heart”.

In the same way our Pristine Seas project works to inspire governments to create large protected areas, other conservation efforts are happening around the world, led by writers, photographers, artists and scientists,”… anything we can do to inspire and teach future generations is crucial.

Kikeo and The Whale is a beautiful story that submerges first readers in a sea of adventure. The oceans sustain all life on Earth. It gives our children, and us, half of the oxygen we breath and the seafood we eat, it regulates our climate, and captures much of the carbon pollution we put in the atmosphere – and it also allows us to have fun, learn and explore.
