Peekaboo Universe, by PopAppFactory, will delight the youngest iPad users with its darling out of this world collection of creatures and a wonderful invitation for learning! This updated app is an adorable addition to this developer’s suite of educational apps designed for the 2 to 12-year-old set, with special emphasis on the educational and aesthetic components. The children we worked with were immediately engrossed in the Peekaboo University format of finding seven different creatures in ten different scenarios. Young children learn much from the simple concept of a peekaboo game; PopAppFactory has taken it to the next level by including all kinds of visual stimulation, along with great audio. Peekaboo Universe contains one common language. It is the special attention given to universal gibberish and a wide variety of quality and quirky sound effects that give this app broad appeal to audiences worldwide. Peek-a-boo is a game that helps develop object permanence, which is part of early learning. Object permanence is a fancy term to describe the understanding that objects and events continue to exist, even when they cannot directly be seen, heard, or touched. Teachers With Apps plans on keeping PopAppFactroy on their radar and revisiting some of their other titles. We did review their Mini-U: Riddles, and commented that sometimes simple is just the way to go. Nothing too heavy or demanding, very light in nature and easy. Sheer joy is what you get with Mini-U: riddles! What’s interesting in Peekaboo Universe?
