Once in a while an App just grabs and holds your attention, Shelby's Quest, by Doodle Therapy Apps, is just that! This app contains wonderful, therapeutic tools for fine motor and visual perceptual development.
Meet Shelby the dog, Maurice the moose, Samantha the squirrel, and Skip the salmon. From the wonderful illustrations to the reminiscent "uh oh" of an old instant messenger sound, this app will live up to its quest - to improve fine motor and visual perception skills. Three areas of gameplay and three levels are available from mazes, pinching, and drawing shapes. The illustrations are wonderful and will keep the child motivated. How fast can the salmon swim the stream? How many acorns can you get in the basket? Can you help Maurice trace the shapes?
A tutorial is available, as well as tracking of scores, that can be emailed to parents or teachers. The ability of a PIN number also creates privacy from other students accidentally entering this app. While this app is targeted for young children or children with fine motor issues, older brothers and sisters may find this fun also and we look forward to more from this developer. Get started! Available in the App Store for $4.99.
