On the eve of the Digital Kids Summit KICK OFF 2016 where Jo Booth and I are representing Lipa Learning we were fortunate to meet some of the attendees and presenters and are excited for the events planned for tomorrow, the day will begin early with a breakfast sponsored by the WIT (Women In Toys) Northern California Chapter. As for tonight, this blog is a shout out to all the incredible people who are coming together to further the movement in the value of play in digital education. What a joy meeting Stuart Brown MD, his TED Talk, Play is more than just fun, is a must watch! A pioneer in research on play, Dr. Stuart Brown says humor, games, roughhousing, flirtation and fantasy are more than just fun. Plenty of play in childhood makes for happy, smart adults — and keeping it up can make us smarter at any age. Excited about: Mark Schlichting, with his fabulous new book, Understanding Kids, Play, and Interactive Design, being released in November and Barbara Chase the publisher, this book is for essential for anyone involved in designing, developing, or implementing interactive technology with children.
