iF Poems, by Clickworks Ltd, is one of the most amazing apps to make its début in the app store yet. Poetry is a personal favorite of mine and I use it daily when in the classroom. Just yesterday, when showing this app to a colleague, she mentioned that Robert Louis Stevenson was her personal favorite. It was a fond reminiscence of bygone childhood’s as we began to recite the words to The Swing and then The Land of CounterPane. Passé yes, but true! We can’t say enough good things about this app, it is a dream come true. Please go out of your way to share this app with literally anyone. It will be a memorable experience, whether it is to revisit the old or take in the new.
“iF Poems has 230 classic poems from Lear’s “The Owl And The Pussycat” to Belloc’s “Matilda Who Told Lies And Was Burned To Death” to Yeats’s “An Irish Airman Foresees His Death”. All the poems are a joy to pass down through the generations, to share, to educate with and enjoy.
The acclaimed actors Helena Bonham Carter, Bill Nighy, Tom Hiddleston and Harry Enfield bring many of the poems alive with high-quality audio recordings and pitch-perfect performances.”
