The emotional health of college freshmen, who feel buffeted by the recession and stressed by the pressures of high school — has declined to the lowest level since an annual survey of incoming students started collecting data 25 years ago. According to the infographic, meditating, participating in hobbies, sleeping, and spending time with friends can ward off the negative impact of stress. Sure, these activities are obvious, but they are also items that don’t make the cut when schedules are tight. Another key tip is knowing when to ask for help.
