Teachers With Apps initiates App Certification Program

NEWteacherwithapps-768x753Teachers With Apps today is pleased to announce their new App Certification Program. The Teachers With Apps Certification Program has been designed to recognize apps that go above and beyond excellent. As of today, the Teachers With Apps Certified badge of approval will be awarded to education apps that prove exemplary in the following areas: content, presentation, and execution, as well as overall user experience. Mobile devices have consistently been making in-roads into the learning space since their debut. The mobile tablet, especially, will continue to progress to the head of the class. To salute this ongoing trend, we aim to acknowledge outstanding apps in the educational app industry. To kick-off this initiative, we are presenting this award of distinction to a new app, which is not only groundbreaking, but also a change-agent in the way children will and should be educated. It is our pleasure to name News-O-Matic, Daily for Kids, by Press4Kids as our first honoree. Behind this incredible teaching tool is the impressive team at Press4kids of New York City, whose mission is to report current affairs to a young audience in a true, concise, and educational manner. Press4Kids publishes a daily digital publication for children that seeks to explain, analyze, and put into age-appropriate perspective, important local, National, and international news stories. News-O-Matic has emerged as a state of the art app that will change the way kids interact with broadcast news. This isn't just news for kids on your tablet. The app enhances its offerings with video, interactive maps, engaging games, and many other features. A myriad of topics, geared to upper elementary/early middle school students, immediately hooks the reader. In addition, readers are given a voice by having the ability to rate the articles, ask questions and even submit drawings that relate to the news. News-O-Matic also offers access to past issues and a free daily Teacher Guide that correlates to the days' news stories From the News-O-Matic Team: "At Press4Kids, our goal is to create content that is relevant for students and educators alike. Each article comes from our team of professional children's writers, comprised of former teachers and experienced authors of nonfiction text. Our Editor-in-Chief, Russell Kahn, has created leveled reading materials and has authored multiple books on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Our on-staff child psychologist reviews every article before publication to ensure emotionally safe content. News-O-Matic helps create a fun daily routine - all while encouraging readers to become knowledgeable, global citizens. It offers a window to the world (and beyond)!" Congratulations to News-O-Matic! 2. FANTASTIC! We need someone to step up and create the equivalent of a “Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval”, and I think Teachers With Apps has the clout to do that!
